As the spring weather is fast approaching, many moms are thinking about changing out their winter purse for a spring variety.
If you’re wondering what you should put in your purse for spring, here are six suggestions from one busy parent to another.
Hand Sanitiser
We’re still in the midst of the COVID-19 global health pandemic, and everyone should be taking responsibility for hand hygiene.
With this in mind, it’s always useful anyway to keep a hand sanitizer in your bag at all times. Use it religiously before you eat, after you’ve touched surfaces like door handles, and regularly throughout the day.
Hand sanitizer doesn’t negate the need for soap and water, though, and you should always wash with warm soapy water for 20 seconds at least once for every three uses of hand gel.
Sunscreen For Kids
Getting the right skincare for children can be a bit of a pain because kids’ skin is much more sensitive than adults’.
Putting specifically designed kids skincare products in your bag for easy access is important all year round, but in the Springtime, we tend not to notice the sun as much, and kids are at greater risk of sunburn.
Biodegradable Wipes
Where would moms be without wet wipes? Those useful single-use wipes that are pre-moistened can be used for any number of things, from dirty hands or dirty faces, cleaning drips, stains, and spills, and for a hundred and one other things besides!
The dirty secret of these clean wipes is unfortunately not as nice. Every year there are thousands of them that clog up drainage systems.
That is why you should invest in biodegradable wipes and ensure you throw them in the trash and not down the toilet.
A Small First Aid Kit
You’re a mom of kids, and you know how often they come to you with bruises, scrapes, splinters, and maybe even small cuts and burns. It’s because of this you should also carry a first aid kit with you!
It doesn’t have to be anything special; a simple box of bandaids and some headache meds will do the job, but always carry a small first aid kit for that inevitable injury.
A Phone Battery
How often have you been out and your cell phone has run out of charge? Sure there are a few places now you can grab some power, but you can bet your bottom dollar there won’t be any around when you need them.
Invest in a small, slim portable battery for your phone, 3000mAh will be fine, to begin with, and keep it charged so you can keep your cell phone charged when you need it most.
Tissues or Hankies
Kids have an uncanny habit of making a mess, and snot is one of those lovely bodily excretions that every mom enjoys cleaning up (yes, that was sarcasm).
Grab a packet of recycled paper tissues or pop some reusable cloth hankies in a zip lock bag into your purse, you’ll be thankful later!
