What’s better than a lazy bank holiday? Tacking on a spa day the day after; that’s exactly what we did last week. A group of us were invited to the Solent Hotel and Spa for a day of pampering and relaxation.
The Solent Hotel and Spa is in Fareham and has a lovely welcome as you arrive. The hotel caters for everyone and Donna from What The Redhead Said couldn’t sing its praises enough after her stay with the family.
The spa is located within the main hotel and we were greeted with smoothies and fresh fruit and gave us a chance to catch up and chat. Soon it was time to change into robes (literally the best thing ever for a Tuesday morning) and head into the spa. The changing rooms had everything you needed although only shower gel in the shower so remember to bring shampoo etc if you’re likely to need it.
After half an hour of relaxing by the pool and jacuzzi, it was time for my facial. The Solent use Caudalie products and my facial was tailored to my concerns – tiredness and needed a refresh. Jodie my therapist was lovely and really listened to what I wanted from the facial. I found it so relaxing that I can neither confirm nor deny whether I fell asleep and let a snore or two out!
Soon it was lunchtime and we had a delicious healthy lunch; it was lovely to sit with friends and chat, the food was delicious – my personal favourite was the club sandwich.
After lunch, we learnt more about the brand Caudalie, their brand and products. As a beauty junkie, I’ve been obsessed with their beauty elixir but will admit I didn’t know much about them. Started in France the products come from the byproduct of grapes being made into wine – it was this point that I knew I was going to like this brand very much. From their grape water spray being suitable for all the family (will be stocking up ready for our next holiday) to their brand new sun skincare – there are so many lovely products and it’s brand I’m looking forward to exploring over the coming months.
Last on the list of our spa day was… absolutely nothing. It was bliss to have a couple of hours to swim, enjoy the sauna and steam and chat. There is complimentary tea and coffee available plus light snacks available throughout the day which is a lovely touch.
Overall we had a lovely day and I left feeling infinitely more relaxed and recharged ready for a busy month. I really enjoyed our time at the Solent and am looking forward to returning with Boo very soon.
We were invited for a complimentary spa day for the purpose of this review.
I had such a nice day – so lovely to spend the day with you, we really need to do it again soon x
Wow! That really looks fun! A spa day with friends sounds a good idea to release stress from work!
