This Time It’s Pneumonia

Boo had pneumonia I thought we were done with hospitals (well in-patient status at least) but it seems I was wrong. Boo was admitted to hospital today and diagnosed with pneumonia – likely to be in both lungs.

As I write this I can’t believe we’re here; not that we’re somehow above this surprisingly common but extremely painful and nasty illness but that Boo seems to be somewhat lacking in both the luck and health department.

Anyone who’s had dealings with pneumonia will know that it’s a waiting game to see how long it takes the body to retain oxygen levels and recover. Yet again I’m the Mummy with no answers for her little girl.

I’m back doing what I know well, stalking ward corridors at night itching for fresh air and mastering the art of living out of a bag for both me and Boo – sending out an SOS for beauty/pampering supplies!

I know Boo is strong willed. She will come through this but why do we have to keep testing her strength.

Just sending hugs your way – not sure if there’s anything I can do to help, but let me know if so.

You do know I am officially rubbish at beauty and pampering though, right? I know what concealer is though 🙂

Hope she gets better soon and it isn’t too boring there for you xxx

Oh poor thing 🙁 We’ve never had pneumonia to contend with, but we have spent many nights in hospital due to asthma, and I know it’s a miserable stressful time. Fingers crossed she bucks up soon, and sending hugs x

Thanks, it came completely out the blue. She had a runny nose on Sunday and a cough developed on Monday evening, next thing. I know they say she’s got pneumonia! X

My daughter was 1 and half when she was admitted with pneumonia, I thought we had the worse luck in the world after she had battled with meningitis when she was 9 months old but thankfully and touch wood the pneumonia was the last major illness she had. Two weeks after being on high dependency for the pneumonia we were home and it was like she was never poorly. I hope you are both back home soon x
